Obama ‘08 Campaign
Project Summary
This project consists of an interactive banner ad with at least five different informative screens and an outdoor stationary ad.
Objectives
It is crucial for a presidential candidate to communicate his (or her) stance on issues in an clear and engaging manner. The scope of the website is intended to be incredibly broad, so this project is valuable because it will pinpoint issues that are important to a specific demographic.
Target Audience
Obama’s voter demographic obviously includes the African American community and possibly other minorities, and the current website appeals to the older voters of those communities. This project will appeal to the younger voter, such as the college student who wants a candidate who is fresh and new. This demographic is also the most likely candidate to be online and click on a banner ad.
Competition
At this moment in the Presidential race, Obama’s main competition is Hillary Clinton. Both candidates appeal to minorities and women, although Hillary has a past political history that is strong in the eyes of Americans because of her position of being the first lady. Again, though, Obama’s strength comes in the fact that he is younger and will promote change rather than following a previous presidency.
