Obama ‘08 Campaign
Project Summary
This project will consist of a new online presence, either a redesign or a separate branch from the existing website, and an outdoor print ad.
Objectives
The current website, while organized and graphically very emotive, appeals mostly to the older voters. The website also has very little hierarchy with the vast amount of information, so the viewer can find it very confusing. Therefore, the objective of this project is communicate what is really important and intrinsic to Obama’s campaign without making the viewer hunt for it. This project will also appeal to a younger demographic, as Obama himself is a young candidate. This can be done by creating a satellite website or by renovating the existing website.
Target Audience
Obama’s voter demographic obviously includes the African American community and possibly other minorities, and the current website appeals to the older voters of those communities. This project will appeal to the younger voter, such as the college student who wants something fresh and new.
Competition
At this moment in the Presidential race, Obama’s main competition is Hillary Clinton. Both candidates appeal to minorities and women, although Hillary has a past political history that is strong in the eyes of Americans because of her position of being the first lady.
