Final Creative Brief
Obama ‘08 Campaign
Project Summary
This project consists of an interactive banner ad with at least five different informative screens and a stationary outdoor ad.
Target Audience
Obama’s voter demographic obviously includes the African American community and possibly other minorities, and the current website appeals to the older voters of those communities. This project will appeal to the younger voter, particularly the educated college students ages 17-28.
Objectives
the objective of the banner is to communicate to the demographic Obama's stance on the crisis the United States is facing in their higher education, and the fact that a vast majority of college age Americans either cannot afford college or will go deeply into debt for it.
The banner should be clear and to the point, as educating and persuading the viewer to vote for Obama is key. The graphics should relate to the main website, and perpetuate the personality of Obama rather than contradict it. The banner needs to come across as serious, academic, and reliable without looking stuffy. It should also stand out in a busy web environment, particularly websites such as YouTube.com, MSN.com, or Yahoo.com
Competition
At this moment in the Presidential race, Obama’s main competition is Hillary Clinton. Both candidates appeal to minorities and women, although Hillary has a past political history that is strong in the eyes of Americans because of her position of being the first lady. Again, though, Obama’s strength comes in the fact that he is younger and will promote change rather than following a previous presidency.
Look & Feel
The banner is reminiscent of college-ruled paper that college students take notes on. The colors, blue and red, are the same as Obama's compaign. The type and paper is at an angle as to look more casual, like some notes on a student's desk while they are studying or writing a paper.
