I came across this interactive designer/coder Yugo Nakamura. The animations are very simple, but I can't stop watching or playing with them. ^_^ I especially love the Claygrid and Entropy 01.
My boss at my old internship gave me the link because he thought it was interesting. He said he used to know Yugo or something. Apparently, he is an extremely goofy guy in person.
I've seen designers use things like that on the splash page of their portfolio websites. They use it as a fun little interactive intro, where the users mouse causes interactivity, then the user can click into the site. Works as a fun little intro that shows off some skills...
